SalamAir, Oman`s Low-Cost Carrier, celebrated the graduation of the 9th batch of cadets from its Cadet Pilot Program, marking another important milestone in the airline’s ongoing commitment to developing aviation talent and supporting the future growth of the aviation sector in the Sultanate.  

The latest graduating batch includes 17 cadets, of whom 15 are Omani nationals, reflecting SalamAir’s continued focus on empowering local talent and creating long-term career opportunities within the aviation sector. 

Since the launch of the Cadet Pilot Program in 2019, SalamAir has successfully trained more than 100 cadets. To date, 114 cadets have been enrolled, with 90 cadets successfully graduating and progressing into operational roles within the airline. 

The Cadet Pilot Program is designed to prepare aspiring pilots through a structured training journey that combines classroom learning with practical flying experience over an estimated period of 24 months. Graduates of the program have progressed into operational roles within the airline, with several advancing from First Officers to Senior First Officers, while others continue progressing toward Captain positions.

We are proud to celebrate the graduation of the 9th batch of cadets and to see many young Omanis successfully building their careers in aviation through this program. The SalamAir Cadet Program reflects our long-term commitment to supporting the growth of Oman’s aviation sector and contributing to the national objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly its priorities around investing in people, developing national capabilities, and empowering Omani youth with future-ready skills.” 

Batch 10 of the SalamAir Cadet Pilot Program is currently in progress, with additional future batches planned as part of the airline’s continued commitment to training, development, and supporting its long-term operational growth.
