Muscat, 1 April 2019 – SalamAir Chief Executive Officer, Captain Mohamed Ahmed, was one of the top 14 performing CEOs recognized as part of the top 100 Arab CEOs for 2018 at the 3rd G2T Global Awards ceremony recently held in Paris, France. Today and under his guidance, SalamAir is a leading the cost-effective travel market in Oman and into the region offering customers convenience, flexibility and reliability of experience to the airline’s 17 domestic and regional destinations.

SalamAir recently announced new routes to see its growing network of destinations. The new routes include Alexandria, Kuwait and Riyadh from Muscat, as well as Abu Dhabi from Salalah and the re-started route between Sohar and Salalah. In yet another milestone, the airline’s load factor reached 85 per cent in Q1 2019, while total number of passengers carried to date reached 1.6 million. With the addition of the new routes, the airline is continuing with its expansion strategy, offering guests more choice and flexibility to plan their business or leisure travels, while meeting their needs and means.

Now in its third year, the G2T Global Awards are organized by the Global 2 T Group, a regional leader in training and events management. The awards feature three main categories including the Top 100 Arab CEOs for 2018, the Business and Operational Excellence awards, as well as the Literature, Arts and Heritage category. The awards are evaluated quantitively and qualitatively by a renowned judging panel of Arab industry experts.

Today, the SalamAir network consists of 17 destinations including Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot, Shiraz, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Dhaka, Alexandria, Kuwait, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi. SalamAir recently became the first Oman-based carrier to receive the new Airbus A320neo aircraft making it one of the early Middle East recipients and operators of the highly rated model. In addition to the delivered aircraft, another five Airbus A320neo are expected to join SalamAir’s fleet in 2019. A cost-conscious menu of additional services is also available to guests, which includes extra luggage allowance, as well as seat and meal selection.
