SalamAir Witnesses 28% Surge in Passenger Numbers in 2023 Compared to 2022, Introduces Exciting New Summer Destination, and Reinstates Three Seasonal Destinations Starting June.

SalamAir, Oman's pioneering low-cost carrier, continues its operational trajectory by adding a new European destination for its customers this summer. 

Captain Ahmed Al Shidhani, Acting CEO of SalamAir, unveiled the introduction of SalamAir's latest route to Tirana, Albania's capital, scheduled to commence in mid-June with two weekly flights. He emphasized that Tirana joins the summer roster alongside Baku, Almaty, and Trabzon. 

In a statement to the Omani News Agency, Captain Ahmed Al Shidhani described Tirana as "a gem among Albania's destinations, boasting a moderate climate and a wealth of historical and tourist attractions." 

SalamAir will resume its seasonal services in mid-June, connecting Muscat to Baku in Azerbaijan, Trabzon in Turkey, and Almaty in Kazakhstan. 

Captain Ahmed Al Shidhani also announced SalamAir's response to heightened tourist interest in Dhofar Governorate during the Khareef season, with plans for four daily flights from Muscat to Salalah and onward connectivity to Sohar. SalamAir will extend its reach to Salalah from Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates and Manama in the Kingdom of Bahrain. 

Highlighting the airline's current operations, Captain Ahmed Al Shidhani noted direct flights to domestic and international destinations, including Salalah, Duqm, Masirah, GCC countries, and various locations across the Arab, Asian, and European regions. 

He elaborated on SalamAir's modern fleet, which comprises 13 new Airbus A321neo and A320 aircraft neo, alongside an Airbus A321 cargo variant. 

In 2023, SalamAir exceeded expectations by transporting over 2.7 million passengers, marking a substantial 28% increase from the previous year and underscoring its pivotal role in bolstering Oman's tourism and service sectors.
